When you sign up to learn surfing at LahAina Surf Shack, you’re not just going to get a simple lesson on the mechanics of the sport. You’ll learn the beauty behind the ancient art of surfing and understand the culture surrounding it that lives on to this day. You’ll leave each lesson with a better understanding of the water, a more profound respect for the Hawaiian Islands, and of course, a better grasp of riding waves. Surf Lesson Details
We believe in tailoring our lessons to your unique goals. Each of our two-hour long lessons are guaranteed to address what you are looking for specifically so you get the most out of every experience with us. All equipment is included with all lessons. Here are the types of lessons we offer:
Private Lessons
$160 per person. This lesson will allow you to be one-on-one with your instructor so you can get the most focused approach possible. Highly recommended for those who want more attention whether just beginning, or looking to take your surfing to a level higher than your current level. More waves, more instructor time. Also recommended for children 10 and under.
Free 1 hour board rental after your lesson, on the same day as your lesson, included with every lesson!
Semi-Private Lessons: (from $100 per person)
2 person Semi-private: $220 total ($110 each)
3 person Semi-private: $300 total ($100 each)
If you have one or two other people you would like to surf with, then this is the best option. This lesson allows you and your friends to be together with your own private instructor. This is a great way for couples or close friends to enjoy learning.

Group/Family Lessons
Group Rate 4 or more people: $85 per person
If you have 4 or more people, you may sign up for our group or family lesson. Group Rate is $85 per person with four person minimum. Children 8 and under will require a private lesson unless previously arranged. If you have more than five people in your group, that is great! We will accommodate your group with a second instructor or third instructor depending on number of people in group. We can accommodate up to 25 people in a private group! Please call if you are looking to book more then 15 people!

Cancellation and Refund Policy
We understand that current travel restrictions can make it tricky to schedule activities. We can cancel any lesson for a full refund if given 48 hours notice prior to your scheduled lesson time, via email or phone call. If you would like to keep your class but reschedule it for a different day or time, we can accommodate that free of charge as long as we are given at least 24 hours ahead of time and there is space in the schedule. Refunds or changes can be denied if they are not with in these 24-48 hour windows. Given the current travel climate, we will do our best to try to work with you so you can have the best experience on Maui Possible.

Age and Swimming Regulations
We are committed to the safety of all our students. Due to the dynamic conditions that may occur when learning to surf, we have important safety policies that we adhere to. Being a strong swimmer is not a must to take classes, but being able to tread water and feel confident in the ocean is important. Our policies state that any student that is 8 or under or an adult who isn’t confident in their swimming skills must book a private lesson for their safety. A private lesson does not ‘separate’ your child from the rest of the family. This option gives your child their own instructor who will stay with them in the water the entire time while you surf as a group. By booking a private lesson, our staff can ensure the safety of our students and therefore students are able to get the most out of their surf lesson.
